- Replace the burner with the wick and let the wick absorb the lamp oil for about 20-30 minutes.
- Turn on the lamp and adjust the height of the flame with the screw on the side of the burner.
- Replace the burner glass.
Please note that you may need to adjust the burner glass to get it straight. Once the glass is straight, use the metal clamps on the burner to stabilize it.
To turn off the light:
Extinguish the flame by slowly lowering the wick until the flame goes out or the flame goes out.
Empty wick:
the old wick is pulled out of the burner from below and the new one is inserted from below and screwed in at the correct height.
Important :
the burner glass will be extremely hot when the lamp has been burning for some time. Place the lamp on a flat surface, away from flammable material. Make sure to keep the area above the lamp clear as well, about 1 meter.
Consider the lamp as a primary light source and not just as a decoration. Never leave the lamp unattended and keep it out of reach of children and pets. Lamp oil is very toxic to ingest. If swallowed, DO NOT induce vomiting, but contact a poison control center for assistance.
Kerosene lamps were the most common type of lamp in Sweden in the late 1800s and early 1900s. Our kerosene lamps are made with the purpose of adding light sources to places where there is no electricity, such as small boats, cottages and balconies/gardens. However, they are also nice to have on the kitchen table for a cozy feeling. Kerosene lamps are also useful during times of power failure as they allow for very strong light.
